In 1887 Hendrik Pander (1842-1893), the son of Klaas, opened the Pander Meubelfabriek on the Zuid-Westsingelgracht in The Hague with a large furniture workshop. The Hollandia flour factory was previously located here. Around 1900 Pander also made mattresses with kapok and springs. The name of the company was changed to H. Pander & Zonen. After the death of father Klaas, Hendrik took over the trade. His son Klaas Gerard succeeded him in 1893.

Between 1924 and 1934, Pander also had an aircraft factory. At that time, airplanes were made of wood using the same woodworking techniques that Pander already knew from furniture construction.

After the war, in 1955, after many mergers, the N.V. United Furniture Companies was formed, of which Pander was a part. Things then deteriorated, and in 1985 Pander closed its doors after 130 years.
